The Fattoria is located in the town of Ripa d'Orcia nestled between the areas of Montalcino
and Castiglione d'Orcia about 50 km south of the city of Siena;
it borders with the village of Bagno Vignoni and is a few kilometres from Pienza,
some of the iconic places of the countryside surrounding Siena and the Val d'Orcia.

This valley, carved out by the course of the River Orcia, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 as “an exceptional example of Renaissance landscape transformation that reflects the ideals of good government in the 14th and 15th centuries of the Italian city-state and the aesthetic research that guided its conception”. The variety of landscapes in the Val d’Orcia ranges from the hardness of the clay
to the soft lines of the hills, where the classic Mediterranean crops, vineyards, olive groves,
arable land and spontaneous essences create a landscape of a unique beauty,
born of the Renaissance man’s awareness of being part of nature and at the same time of being able to shape it according to his values.
